Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the theme of the 2020 New Zealand Ball?

New Zealand has always been famous for 'punching above our weight'. It is for this reason that we decided to use our biggest event to showcase some of the biggest and best LEGENDS that New Zealand has produced. Come on a journey to discover some of New Zealand's greats and learn about the contributions these people have made to today's society. As always, the New Zealand Ball promises to give you a memorable 'taste of NZ' - great NZ wine, great food and the ever-popular Kiwi band that will have you dancing your sox off! A silent auction and a huge pool of  raffle prizes will complement the theme, with proceeds supporting community outreach programs in Thailand, so please bring plenty of cash on the night!!

2. How will the booking of tickets be managed?

As always, members of the New Zealand Society Thailand (NZS) and the New Zealand-Thai Chamber of Commerce (NZTCC) will have the opportunity to purchase two tickets before general sale. This year, members will also have the opportunity to purchase a full table. We have also been able to make more seats available to the general public, but we still encourage you to book your tickets as early as possible. We will be using https://megatix.in.th/events/new-zealand-ball-2020 to manage bookings. TIP: Register with MEGATIX before tickets are released.

For member tickets, each membership will be allowed to purchase 2 tickets per membership. You do not need your membership number to book as all member bookings will be checked against our member database. For general tickets, there is a limit of 1 table per person/booking. If you would like to book tables for your friends, we strongly advise that your friends complete their own booking with their details. Remember, table allocation will take place when you collect your tickets.

8. Can I register for only 2 tickets or do I have to book a table of 10?

Yes – you can book for a small number of tickets. You do not necessarily have to book a table of 10. However, please be advised that where you book less than 10 seats, the NZS will allocate you the next best available table/seats.

9. Can I book a table to seat 12 people?

Ideally we prefer tables (x10), as larger tables are more of a challenge to accommodate and service amongst the normal size tables. However if there is an absolute necessity, then please book your table of 10, and email us your request. NB: We are limited to 4 tables of 12 (as a maximum) and these tables are likely to be placed either on the edge of the room or in a corner.

10. Can I choose our table?

Yes – When you arrive to collect your tickets, you will be able to pick your table, subject to availability.

11. We don't know our meals yet, or we don't have all of the selections yet - when do we need to confirm our meals?

All guests will be asked to reconfirm their meals at the payment/collection point.

12. My friends and I have a bunch of member bookings, can we be grouped together?

Yes - please assign 1 person to manage/collate your bookings. That person can contact us with the bookings and we can group them. The table coordinator will just need to provide us with the booking number and the name the booking was made under. All tables that need to be grouped MUST be made in the same request. If you have been able to put together a table of ten, you will be able to select your table at the payment/collection point. If you have a group less than ten, the NZS will allocate you the best available seating. Grouping requests need to be received by January 26 , 2019.

13. Can I book a table near my friend’s table?

Yes – if you come at the same time as your friend to collect your tickets together, or if your friend gives you their booking confirmation, you can choose their table on their behalf.

Yes – You can cancel your booking/s before payment. After payment, we cannot accept cancellations.
